Liverpool-based psychedelic music singer-songwriter Tom Powell, aka def.fo released his debut song “Play It Cool” on September 1, 2023. The song will appear on his upcoming debut album “Eternity”, which is set to be released on December 15, 2023.

The track is built around an insistent and compelling bass groove, driven by blistering drums, and layers of guitar searing and swooping throughout. It reminds us of a warm nostalgia for the nineties like the sound of early Tame Impala. The track was produced by father-son duo of Tom Powell and Steve Powell.

The accompanying music video was directed by Tom Powell and Red Visuals, starring Cerian Young, Kyle Brookes, and Bill Tuer.

It is a captivating parody-homage to the iconic Tarantino/Tony Scott 1994 film “True Romance”. The debut album comprises 10-track, featuring guest vocal appearances from Michael Head and Chris Geddes.
